These images are photographs of old photographs from the beginning of the last century. The old images are produced on paper containing silver and when they are tipped in light, the silver reflects the light. In Jonathan Safran Foer's book Everything Is Illuminated, photographs plays an important role. Photos from the distant past that gives hope of disclosure in present time. Through photography, we can capture moments as brief as less than half a second. So brief moments that we can hardly comprehend them, perhaps that is why we hold on to them. Maybe we need a sense of existence beyond the times we live in. I have used an analogue camera for these photographs, the reflected light leaves a trace on the film of darkness that when exposed will become light.
